December is here and with it come new events in the city. This is the month of extreme shopping frenzy, gala dinners, New Year countdown and starting to think in New Year resolutions. We have hand-picked for you 5 events you should look forward this month.

1. Father’s Day

Where: Everywhere

Thais celebrate Father’s Day every 5th of December, coinciding with the birthday of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. For the occasion, many Thai will wear yellow t-shirts and the flag with the royal cypher will be seen everywhere. There are also special events, concerts and you can expect special promotions or free entry at specific places if you bring your dad along.

2. Rama IX Flower Festival

Every year Rama IX Park hold the Flower Festival, an event full of activities, delicious Thai food, fun fair and, of course, flowers. Lots of flowers.

3. Thailand Motor Expo

Where: IMPACT Arena, Challenger 1-3

If you love everything with wheels and an engine, you cannot miss Thailand Motor Expo. It is very likely that this December you will have to spend a good amount of time shopping for presents for family and friends. 5. Christmas and New Year

Christmas decorations in Bangkok are something you must not miss. Every big mall will have a big tree, plenty of lights and sometimes a little over-the-top decorations with very creative themes. Sure, the weather doesn’t seem to get along with those snowmen, but they are beautiful the same.

For New Year, you will find the classic countdown, parties and the mandatory fireworks at different venues in the city.
